What is PubStudio?
PubStudio is a desktop publishing app for Windows, and for any computer in Chrome or Edge. It opens Microsoft Publisher .pub files from Publisher 98 through Microsoft 365, keeps them laid out as they were, and lets you edit, print and save them as PDF. You can also make new flyers, newsletters, bulletins, labels and cards from its templates.
Who makes it?
PubStudio is made by PubStudio LLC, a small independent software team. We started it in 2026, as Microsoft was retiring Publisher, for the church offices, schools, clubs and small businesses that have years of .pub files and nothing left to open them with.
How is it paid for?
By PubStudio Pro subscriptions. There are no ads, we don't sell or share your data, and your files stay on your own computer: the app and the web version open them locally and never upload them. Opening, editing, printing and saving stay free, for good.
Where can I get it?
From the Microsoft Store (listed under PubStudio), from our download page, or online at web.pubstudioapp.com. Short how-to videos are on our YouTube channel.
How do I get in touch?
Email [email protected] with a question, a bug, or a .pub file that doesn't open the way it should. The support page has answers to the common ones.
